Okay...???  So in acceptance I understand that the process isn't done until HP says...my kuleana (responsibility) is being available only.

I got a call from my youngest son who told me that they were down at the beach getting ready to have lunch would I like to join in?  Of course and I like the surprise of seeing this father and mother in law there also...they are super nice people...I like them a lot and I was entertained to hear that my always angelic daughter-in-law was lured into a "surprise by the whole family in finding out that her Mom and Dad were on the Big Island to celebrate her birthday surprise style and used some trickery to do it.  I hve never seen here loose her quiet all together stature so the story I heard was almost beyond belief...funny also.  Lunch done I got an invitation to go swimming with them and begged off feeling that there was something else I'd rather do and I learned what that was right off as we turned to go our separate ways.  I turned and a white Subaru Station Wagon was turning into the empty parking spot I was about to step into.  It was my sponsee and his mother...HP thing right?  He and I shared a hug and some catch up conversation and I noticed that his mother who I had never met face to face before was waving toward the window from where she was sitting.  I begged off my sponsee and walked around to where his mother sat in the car...she isn't able to move real well cause she's "sick" and knows it and also knows why...she apologized to smelling of alcohol and I told her I'm not put off by what I expect.   I know the smell myself.  

She doesn't know who you all are of what a MIP is (anonymous of course) and she wanted to thank me and the "others" for the prayers.  It was as suspected...they changed their minds about releasing her and kept them both.  See guys...gals...it works when we work it.  I spent some time talking with her and told her that it has always been important for me to listen to the shares of relapsers because I've never lost the compulsion to drink and that just is what it is.  I don't drink in spite of the compulsion to drink...I've got lots of relapsers I hang with who are my teachers anyhow.  I was communicating with what except for the grace of God I suspect is an end stage alcoholic and one who knows it.  I shared with her that they knows about recovery because she had 10 years of almost daily meetings before she went back out.  Why did she go back out..."She felt so assured of the successes she was having that she got the idea "she was cured" just before the compulsion had her stop for a 6 pack coming home from a good job.  She guzzled the first one in the car while she was driving so it wouldn't get away from her and the rest is history up till today.  I told her "okay...so you know that you know and you know how it works and you  know when and where the next meeting is and every day is another choice and you get to get the same ole, same ole or the opposite from now on".  She was quizzacle about "the opposites" and left her with "You're under the influence now because you've been drinking and you're sick because of that too.  If you don't take the next drink and get back into the program...you`ll get the opposites".  She nodded and I turned her over.  I went to speak with my sponsee a bit and found out HP is holding the light up on the path for both he and his mom and they have more gifts coming in the next week or two if they work it.

She and he are grateful family for the prayers...when I told her they came not only from me and from others far and wide...She replied I understand.  Thank you  (((((hugs...MIP)))))
