Easter, religion and faith

Happy Easter everyone, mine has been spent so far, watching 5 episodes of The Mentalist, which I NEVER sit still this long; doing some dishes, drinking more coffee than I usually have time for and enjoying the silence, well, sort of silence, birds and the cold-induced ringing in my ears aside.

One of my jobs could very well be ending soon, the store was sold, they haven't said if they'll keep me, and while I will miss the income, I'm not worried because I know something else is out there waiting for me (my favorite wish is to win the lottery, but I don't think God will let me do that because it would let me stop driving bus and my particular set of riders need someone exactly like me to care about them because they are a difficult set of kids to see through the bs to the gold in their hearts). I have four other paying jobs and boy do I understand the adage about not having all your eggs in one basket!

My daughter's car wouldn't start the other day, she calls all panicked, I'm not big help because i have another bus to drive, so I remind her to call AAA (another A #1 lifesaver!) and tell her where to take the car if it has to be towed. The car was started, battery connections need cleaning, guess that's the next thing I'll show her how to do. She likes that AAA's first question when you call is, are you someplace safe!

As a single mom of a college age student, trying to make it in this ever-more-expensive world gets tougher every day. But I don't worry about things too much because for the longest time, regardless of my unwillingness to ascribe to any organized religion, I have known that there was someone in my court watching out for me. I also think I don't worry because I believe that worrying about something won't change the outcome one little bit except for what condition I will be in at the end.

My personal religious beliefs center on God as the father, me as the child, and the freedom it gives me to be the child living the life God provides for me.

Yesterday the Easter egg hunt I organize went off without a hitch; weather was good, lots and lots of kids showed up, lots of laughter and chaos as they collected their prizes and stuck around to play while their parents visited. In about 15 minutes my three months worth of effort was done. I love watching children at play, love reminding myself of their lack of worry about the way things are going in the world. They have faith in their parent's ability to provide whatever they need without worry for the future.

Now go eat your holiday feast, whadaya doin on the computer when you should be hunting eggs!

I'm on the computer to read more...being selfish in the proper way...getting for me from others who have ESH to give away like, "You cannot turn it over to God unless you let it go".  Short simple winner.  Working it now...Mahalo (((((hugs))))) smile
